Job description

As part of the Cloud Services team, you core role will be leading the development and operations of our core cloud infrastructure. This includes all aspects of cloud services within our hybrid environment (private, Azure, AWS). The role will serve as the main operations as well as the subject matter expert for both public and private IAAS/PAAS services. Your mission is to partner with cloud providers, architects, and other infrastructure engineers in developing best practices and reference architectures to ensure resiliency, agility at defined SLA levels.

Years of Experience:

  • 4+ years

Technology requirements:

  • Must have 8+ years over overall IT infrastructure and delivery experience
  • Must have 3+ years of experience building highly available, scalable cloud based platform and infrastructure for cloud native systems.
  • Must have hands-on experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platforms
  • Must have experience in Networking, Kubernetes, Python, Terraform and PowerShell
  • Must have experience with Build Tools, CI/CD, DevOps and Agile principals

Working knowledge of:

  • Configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible etc.
  • Federated Security, Identity, SAML, Single Sign On, IAM etc.
  • Networking and Load Balancers, Firewalls, VPCs, VPNs, DNS OSI Layers etc.
  • Infrastructure and Application logging and monitoring technologies (New Relic, Splunk, etc.)

Basic Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Deep expertise in Public Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and internal hosting infrastructure (compute, storage, networking, etc.)
  • Experience in Networking, Kubernetes, Python, Terraform and PowerShell
  • Candidate must have strong technical fluency; comfort understanding and discussing architectural concepts with management, architects, developers and systems & applications engineering teams.
  • Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies such as Scrum.
  • Curiosity to understand how things work and how they can be improved.
  • Leads by example with confidence, a positive attitude, patience, honesty and integrity
  • Drives decision-making that favors compromise and alignment over consensus-building
  • Excellent organization and facilitation skills; ability to adapt approach to different types of engagements
  • Experience in definition, assessment, and optimization of IT processes (SDLC, ITIL, etc.)
  • Ability to engage in difficult conversations that result in positive, actionable outcomes
  • Seeks and provides honest, transparent feedback
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing with strong interpersonal skills and interact with all levels of the organization.

Acumen and Learning Agility:

  • Deep understanding of cloud native designs and operations practices
  • Follows industry technology trends and how they apply to Client Technology Influence vendor product roadmaps based on Client Technology requirements
  • Evangelize emerging technology to internal and external audiences
  • Drive the future planning for core system upgrades/departures to new solution designs

Degree or certifications required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in information systems or a related field

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing shared services in python, Azure runbooks, terraform templates for application teams
  • Building and managing shared Kubernetes on prem and public cloud Azure, AWS, Google.
  • Express Route monitoring and efficient management
  • R&D of current and emerging cloud technologies
  • Evaluation and POC's for core infrastructure and application team's needs
  • Design and Evangelism of patterns and reference architectures
  • Vendor management and engagement within the cloud services domain
  • Provides system analysis and recommended solutions for environment performance needs
  • Plan, implement and support core infrastructure with an overall objective to improve the scalability, reliability, performance, and availability of the cloud infrastructure.
  • Administrates the cloud enrollment and subscription process
  • Monitors and escalates engineering issues to architecture team when required
  • Ensures system performance, uptime and support levels meet or exceed SLAs
  • Assists project teams with capacity planning, cloud service offerings, and deployment
  • Work closely with architects and engineers to design networks, systems, and storage environment that effectively reflect our client's business needs, security, and SLA requirements
