Your future duties and responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable Python applications using expert-level skills and best practices.
- Lead the technical design and implementation of key features and functionalities.
- Mentor and guide junior developers by sharing your knowledge and expertise.
- Utilize functional programming paradigms like Aspect Oriented Programming to achieve modularity and maintainability.
- Demonstrate fluency in formal language design concepts like type systems for enhanced code correctness and reliability.
- Architect complex systems that can handle high volumes of data and ensure consistent performance in mission-critical environments.
- Identify and proactively address potential business risks associated with technical decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, product, QA) to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and innovations in Python and related technologies.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Expert-level development skills in Python
- Experience with functional programming paradigms like Aspect Oriented Programming will be a plus.
- In-depth understanding of Python's internal workings and optimization techniques.
- Fluency in formal language design concepts like type systems a plus.
- A proven track record of architecting complex systems to work efficiently and reliably in mission critical applications.
- Ability to recognize business risk and surface it to key decision-makers.
- Experience with quant research processes, methodologies, and tools a plus
- Experience with Financial Data a plus

This role must be located in Knoxville, TN
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $75,000-$132,000.
