Full-Stack Software Developer (Python) - £70-75k - Canary Wharf - Hybrid

We are currently looking for a skilled, passionate and experienced Full-Stack Developer to come and join an exceptional team based in Canary Wharf. Working for a passionate company that is driving the development and engineering of engineering platforms across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a small team of engineers to deliver projects plus help with their ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Designing scalable software solutions to improve functionality and system longevity.
  • Working with technical BAs and solution architects to fine-tune requirements and ensure that developer tasks and Jira tickets are deliverable.
  • Translating designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
  • Developing new user-facing features using frameworks such as React.js. Other frameworks will be considered.
  • Writing front-end components using JavaScript, CSS and integrate with back-end Python components (possibly other languages).
  • Developing modules that satisfy the functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Coordinating deployments with Release Manager and monitor for successful integration.

Essential Requirements

  • 4+ years' experience with Python & 3 Years' with Django.
  • At least 2 years’ experience of coding in a front-end capacity (preferably React but other frameworks will be considered).
  • Microservices and using related tools – e.g., Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes, logstash and using messaging tools e.g. Rabbit MQ, Apache Kafka.
  • Databases – e.g., SQL, PostgreSQL.
  • RESTful API development and management.
  • Performance Tuning.
  • Solid understanding of design patterns and relevant implementation models.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps tooling, GitLab, CI/CD, Jenkins, build pipelines and source control systems.
