Job Description

• Looking for a Jr Python Developer (5 yrs) Experience. Candidate will be working primarily on SQL development (ETL jobs using Python development).
• Candidate will be collecting data from different sources and then transforming it into a summary table for analysis and/or use in reports/dashboards.
• Candidate will need to understand the business side/logic in order to do so, so you’ll need to do some studying too.
• Candidate will be part of a dynamic team and may work on assignments with a set requirement or ones where we build it as we go along.

Requirements

• We are looking for someone with solid SQL development skills, who can work with Shell Scripting and Python for ETL jobs.
• A long experience is not necessary as long as you have the skills.
• There’s also a possibility of working on Tableau, Looker and Splunk.
• If you have all experience that would be a plus but the SQL skills weigh more in this case as long as you are a fast learner.
• You must be flexible and willing to learn technologies and different stacks as needed by the project.
• Our ETL processes are usually developed using Python and deployed on a Linux server.
• Scheduling is done via CRONJOBs. We do not use third party/proprietary ETL tools.
• Our primary dbs are in Postgres but we collect data from many different sources (Postgres, Oracle, Teradata, Druid, MySQL, Google BigQuery, CSV files, etc.).
• Bachelor’s degree with good skills in SQL, Python, and/or Tableau/report tools.
• Three or more years of relevant work experience.
• Technical capability with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred, Oracle, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL).
• Experience (or technical knowledge for Jr developer) doing ETL work (PSQL, Python, or Shell Scripting) and script automation.
• Experience with Tableau, Hadoop, GIT, or PSQL is a plus.
• Experience working on reports and dashboards a plus (ex. Tableau, Kibana, Splunk, Looker, Google Data Studio, MS Excel, etc.).
• DevOps and Production Support with CICD automation (i.e. git, testing, Jenkins) a plus.
• Knowledge with all (a plus) or some of the following: Hadoop, Big Query, GIT, Jenkins, Linux, Docker, AWS, Agile, Object-oriented design and programming, Testing, and Data Validation.
• Has a passion for learning and is adaptable to changes with assignments and/or multiple tasks.
• Telecommunications infrastructure knowledge is a plus.
• Good with doing presentations and have experience doing support work.
