Job Description: The Role

The Securities Finance Team, within Fidelity Institutional Technology (FIT), is seeking a Principal Full Stack Engineer to join the team to help build and maintain high quality product and solutions to enable Securities Finance business. We are looking for a person who has hands-on software engineering experience building cloud-based systems using modern, scalable, resilient, Cloud native architectures (Containers and Serverless). Monitors and maintains the operational stability of services within the Cloud. Able to navigate and mange technical complexities while developing secure and scalable solutions for our customers.

The primary technologies will be Oracle 19.x, PLSQL, SQL Tuning, Perl and Shell Scripting, strong understanding of Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) processes to support Data Conversion / Migration / Consolidation. J2EE, Spring and experience integrating the Java Services with database procedures, PLSQL Statements is a must. Working with DevOps tools (Git, Stash, Jenkins, UDeploy) is vital.

Fidelity Capital Markets is the institutional trading arm of Fidelity Investments, providing trading products and services to a wide array of clients, including buy-side institutions and hedge funds, as well as to Fidelity’s own businesses. Fidelity Capital Markets offers a suite of electronic brokerage products and execution services across multiple asset classes, including equities, fixed income, options, and FOREX, as well prime brokerage, securities lending, and municipal and bank issued brokered CD underwriting.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

  • BS or Master’s in computer science, Software Engineering or Mathematics
  • 8+ years of technology roles, specializing in the development and Engineering implementation of new technologies, preferably within financial or high-tech environments. experience in the development and implementation of new technologies in financial and high-tech environments.
  • Extensive experience in software development Oracle PLSQL Development, SQL*Loader, Oracle Export/Import , Unix Shell scripting. Experience in J2EE, Tomcat Application Server, Spring Framework, JDBC is also vital. Knowledgeable in messaging like MQ.
  • Experience loading and handling large volume of data.
  • Work with your agile delivery team, chapter lead and QA team members to understand domain and accelerate their test automation strategy to enable delivery velocity.
  • Knowledge of batch job scheduling and dependency management using BMC Control-M for distributed systems.
  • Ability to optimally translate business needs into technology solutions.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Hands-on experience in full-stack development within an Agile/Scrum team environment.
  • Proficiency in analyzing, designing, developing, testing, and implementing enterprise-scale applications.
  • Extensive experiences with technologies including one or more of the following: Shell script, Python.
  • Proficient in working with Oracle, Oracle RDS, MySQL, Power BI.
  • Knowledge of AWS along with a solid grasp of Kubernetes, CI/CD & DevOps practices.
  • Knowledgeable in designing, developing, and deploying applications following established processing patterns.
  • Strong data driven problem-solving abilities.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior members of the development team.
  • Collaborate with cross squads to define, design, and ship high-quality software solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to optimally convey technical concepts.
  • Actively stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and standard processes in software engineering. Willingness to learn and experiment with new technologies.
  • A dedicated team player, committed to collaborative success.
