Department: Asset Liability Management (ALM)

The Asset Liability Management (ALM) department is pivotal to ABN AMRO, managing the bank’s balance sheet in terms of interest rate, liquidity, and capital risks. Positioned at the core of the bank, ALM collaborates with key stakeholders, including board members and regulatory authorities like DNB and ECB. Job Description

  • We are seeking a Python Developer with extensive data engineering experience. This role focuses on developing testable Python modules for Databricks notebooks, optimizing ETL processes, and automating operational tasks. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to implement impactful solutions and drive technological enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain testable Python modules for Databricks notebooks.
  • Design, implement, and optimize ETL processes.
  • Enhance test automation and implement a 'shift-left' testing approach.
  • Manage Azure infrastructure deployment and maintenance.
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines.
  • Automate operational processes.
  • Analyze data to assess process changes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Resolve incidents and support continuous improvement.

Ideal Candidate Characteristics

  • Proficient in Python and object-oriented programming.
  • Experienced with Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and cloud technologies.
  • Skilled in ETL best practices and data engineering methodologies.
  • Familiar with data integration and orchestration tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Apache Airflow).
  • Proficient in SQL and relational databases.
  • Experienced in CI/CD pipelines, particularly with Azure DevOps and YAML.
  • Knowledgeable in version control systems like Git.
  • Strong in automated unit, integration, and regression testing.
  • Analytical with an interest in Finance & Risk domains.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Collaborative with a coaching mindset.
  • Proactive problem-solver with leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational skills focused on timeliness and completeness.
  • Knowledge of Power BI for data visualization.
  • Proficient in scripting languages like PowerShell.

What we offer

  • Initial 11-month-assigment with extension possibility.

  • €5.331,00 - €6.500,00 gross per month (depending on experience).
  • Bandwidth for a contractor (ZZP or payroll): €66 - €76 gross per hour, excl. VAT.
  • Holiday payment (8,33% on your gross annual income).
  • 25 paid holiday days (based on 40-hour week).
  • Full pension contribution.
