Job Description
Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Programmer with our client in the financial industry located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12 + month contract position.
Responsibilities:
- Enhance the tooling, architecture, and capabilities of a Python-based data pipeline framework, used in multiple internal data warehousing systems
- Contribute to a range of strategic goals to build automated, controlled, and intuitive software solutions for the aforementioned framework while using the Agile methodology
- Allow self-service and easy-to-manage onboarding capabilities for new data feeds/inputs
- Provide technical support and guidance for the processes and mechanisms in support of the above
- Act as both an individual contributor and as part of a global team
Requirements:
- Python developer with minimum 5-7 years of practical working experience
- Excellent understanding of Spark/PySpark framework
- Experience with Python Pandas, Data Frames, Spark SQL and use in data processing solutions of large datasets
- Experience setting up data pipelines using Apache Spark
- Understanding in spark SQL joins, shuffle operations and UDFs
- Experience with Spark UI for troubleshooting and evaluating performance
- Experience with relational databases, preferably Oracle Exadata
- Understanding of the Agile methodology
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Passion for automation and continual process improvement
- Bachelor's degree in STEM related field
- Experience using and/or configuring common SDLC tools that support Agile, such as Jira, Jenkins, Ansible
- Experience or familiarity with orchestration tools, such as Airflow
- Familiarity with Data Warehouse / Data Mart / Business Intelligence concepts
Additional Information
Pay Range: $55.06 - $63.06
