Hugely successful, profitable energy trading market data start-up is seeking a talented Senior Data Scientist to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-funded company that have secured relationships with big name clients; you'll see the results of your work, have your voice heard and make a real difference, quickly progressing to a leadership role if desired.

As a Senior Data Scientist you will be key to delivering accurate forward curves to globally influential clients, using proprietary pricing datasets in Futures Markets. You'll collaborate with engineering and product teams to initiate, plan and build new data products, taking a lead on everything related to data science and providing Subject Matter Expertise to the CTO and CEO. You'll endeavour to make improvements and enhance the role of Data Science across the business.

Location/ WFH: You'll be able to work from home most of the time, meeting up with colleagues in the London office 1-2 days a week (or more often if desired).

About you

  • You're a Senior Data Scientist with strong Python and NumPy experience
  • You have experience with numerical optimisation problems, ideally forward-curve modelling with large data sets
  • You're familiar with LLM, NLP and time-series data
  • You have experience of collaborating with software engineers to deliver data products to market
  • You have an academic record of achievement, 2.1 or above from a top tier university at BSc, MSC / PhD not required but highly regarded
