We are hiring a Senior Python Backend Engineer
The Platform Services team enables us to move faster with more certainty on security and cross-team technical challenges, whilst minimizing the need for strike forces and other more disruptive methods to the product teams at large. It also creates a more secure Wolt by developing key features and moves ownership from a few colleagues to a collective team. This means the team has ownership over key components at Wolt.
The team's mission is to help other teams succeed, and drive down the amount of reinventing the wheel. This is a team that aims to create high-quality components that can be shared across the Wolt application teams. Our main driver is quality since we build critical services and libraries that affect the entire operation. This brings a lot of interesting projects, like making sure we maintain backwards compatibility, services are running 24/7 and we are up-to-date with everything that is happening in the company.
The team is a power squad of five experienced engineers currently and it works closely with our Platform, Developer Experience, and Security teams, among other product teams. In this role, you will be developing services and libraries that are used across the platform, and you can have a big impact on the future development of these solutions.

Our humble expectations
- We are looking for an individual who has significant experience but still yearns to grow further. We want you to be already proficient with Python programming language but also eager to learn and jump into projects using other languages.
- You have a good overall understanding of AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, and different databases - you know the full impact of large deployments.
- You know what it takes to develop top-quality software and achieve ambitious goals together. We expect you to be a good communicator, willing to collaborate with people outside of your own team, be a product-oriented and proactive problem solver willing to bring up issues in a constructive manner to the team and the Wolt Product team at large.
