Senior Software Engineer (Ruby/Python)
- The role:
- We are focused on using back-end technology in an event-driven and scalable architecture to provide the best experience for our borrowers and investors. We are doing this using Clojure, Kafka, AWS, Ruby/Rails and Postgres.
- We work in small agile teams using several best practices including continuous integration (Circle CI), TDD and pairing.
- Your contribution to something big:
- Collaborating as part of an agile cross functional team
- Performing hands-on technical implementation
- Working closely with product and principal engineers to automate business processes
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to less experienced engineers on the team.
- Keep up to date with technological enhancements and seek how to introduce pertinent new features into Funding Circle’s platform in a pragmatic way.
- Our ideal teammate has/is:
- An experienced engineer in Back End Engineering
- Highly experienced with either Clojure, Ruby or Python
- Able to influence architectural decisions
- Experienced in working with a product team as well as wider stakeholders to build a deep understanding within the domain
- Experienced working with distributed systems and knowledgeable in Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum or Kanban)
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal
