The Sr. Systems Developer
The Sr. Systems Developer is responsible for the design and development of modifications to packaged software and/or custom solutions developed to support specific business needs. Works closely with architects, Scrum master/Project managers, business analysts and/or key users, assesses business needs and determines/implements information technology solutions. You will promote continuous learning with the development team in order to improve skills and practice.
Job Skills
- Expert web application development skills such as HTML 5, AJAX, Javascript, tag libraries, CSS.
- Senior experience in Python 3, working with different package/dependency managers.
- Cross-browser compatibility web development skills (IE, Firefox, Safari, Chrome)
- Proficient database design and SQL skills in Oracle, PostgreSQL Database as well as incorporating different ORM tools.
- Strong knowledge of logging, monitoring, debugging and testing.
- Ability to effectively communicate to a wide variety of audiences (both technical and non-technical) using both written and verbal mediums
- Ability to work collaboratively and make decisions in a fast-paced team environment
- Experience working in a variety of project methodologies, including (agile, waterfall, iterative)
Work Experience
- 5+ years experience in software development, systems implementation, and packaged software integrations.
- 4+ years experience: Python development experience and experience with Python frameworks
- 3+ years experience: Oracle, SQL
- 3+ Back-end dev with front end experience like React or Vue, Ruby on Rails, Java or similar preferred.
- 2+ years experience with cloud technologies/infrastructure
Education
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education, experience and area of expertise.
